The Parliament of Andorra has increased the guarantees/minimum investment for getting the Andorra Residence

Relevant amendments to immigration law in Andorra

The effective date of these amendments to Andorra immigration law is 23 December 2022

We had advanced on September the press release from the President of the Andorra Government stating that Andorra was working on amending the requirements for getting the residence without a permit to work and residence to work as a freelance.

Finally, the Parliament introduced those amendments in the Digital Assets Act. The key amendments can be summarized as follows:

Residence permits without a work permit (passive residence), require a minimum investment in Andorran assets of €600,000 instead of the past law €400,000. Nevertheless, if the applicant invests € 400,000 in bonds of the Sobiran Real Estate fund, then an investment of € 400,000 would be enough.
For residence permits with a permit to be self-employed (active residence), the Parliament has increased the past guarantee amounting to €15,000 to €50,000. However, if the permit to be self-employed is focused on the digital economy, there's a full exemption of this guarantee. This measure looks to attract to the country the massive amount of Digital Nomads travelling around the world.

As the law did not introduce any transition period for these changes, the effective date of this law is the day after its publication in the Andorran Official Gazette, which is December 23, 2022.
